ABOUT tatiana

My story with art is anything but conventional. Art said "yes" to me long before I ever said "yes" back. For many years, I kept it on the margins of my life. Only recently have I begun to rediscover and reclaim this space.

My professional life took me to extremes. I’ve reached the peak of corporate environments, learned the language of ambition, structure, and expectations. But I’ve come to understand that this is not my life’s karma — only a part of it.

My artistic practice is, in many ways, an antidote to this world. I don’t take myself too seriously. I move between different mediums: writing, photography, sewing, painting, embroidery, crochet. I am an emerging artist, still in the process of finding my voice and refining my craft.

I seek technique and learning as tools to shape my expression. I have studied writing with Douglas Tufano, painting with Alice Vilhena and Sensei Kaoru Ito, and sewing with textile artist Mariana Gonçalves. Crochet and embroidery came from the women in my family — their hands taught mine.

My creative path is slow and intuitive. While my professional life has been defined by diligence, and measurable achievements, my artistic life is a place of freedom. I gravitate toward an experimental, exploratory approach — one without strict conventions or expectations. This is where I allow myself to play, to make mistakes, to evolve.

I am still building this path. And this is an invitation to walk it with me. Reach out!
